Nona Crest is one of the original gated neighborhoods in the northern Lake Nona area, sitting directly across the street from Lake Nona Golf and Country Club. It is a resale neighborhood now: nothing new has been built here since 2006, and the trees and landscaping have had two decades to fill in.

Its position on Narcoossee Road puts shopping and dining right outside the gates, and puts commuters within a few minutes of State Road 417 and State Road 528. Buyers regularly end up comparing Nona Crest to neighborhoods a decade younger, which makes the differences below worth reading closely.

What Amenities Do Residents Get?

Nona Crest has a community pool, a covered pavilion with tables and restrooms, and a sports park with a playground and half basketball court — a compact amenity set by Lake Nona standards, with no clubhouse building and no fitness center.

The amenity area sits inside the gates and is shared by the whole neighborhood rather than split between sections. It is worth being precise about what the pavilion is: a covered structure with tables and restrooms beside the pool, not an indoor clubhouse building you can book or gather in when it rains. Brick paver sidewalks run through the community, and Florida ponds and conservation areas wrap most of its edges, which is what produces the water and conservation homesites buyers ask about.

What Nona Crest does not have is worth stating plainly, because several nearby neighborhoods do: there is no clubhouse building, no fitness center, no tennis or pickleball courts, no dog park, no splash pad, and no retail or dining inside the gates. Residents who want to work out do it at a gym or fitness studio outside the neighborhood; the Lake Nona YMCA Family Center is not far. Where Is Nona Crest and What's Nearby?

Nona Crest is on Narcoossee Road in ZIP code 32832, directly across from the main entrance to Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, about 5.6 miles from Orlando International Airport.

For commuters, Nona Crest reaches both State Road 417 and State Road 528 quickly, and Orlando International Airport is roughly a 9 to 12 minute drive at 5.6 miles. You can also take a virtual tour outside the gates of Nona Crest.

Right outside the gates you will find Lake Nona Village Shopping Plaza, with a range of dining and services. Just south of the neighborhood is the Publix-anchored Cornerstone at Lake Hart.

Schools near Nona Crest include Northlake Park Community School, Lake Nona Middle School and Lake Nona High School. Nona Park Montessori is also close by, and the Lake Nona YMCA Family Center sits adjacent to Northlake Park Community School. School assignments are set by Orange County Public Schools and can change, so confirm zoning for a specific address before you count on it.

For weekends, Nona Crest is less than an hour to Cocoa Beach and about 30 minutes to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and the Orlando attractions area.

What Are the Homes Like?

Nona Crest homes are single-family resales built by Beazer Homes between 2002 and 2006, running approximately 1,400 to 3,900 square feet in one-story and two-story plans.

Beazer designed the neighborhood in two levels of home styles. The smaller series covers the lower end of that square-footage range with two-car garages; the larger series is where the three-car garages and the biggest floor plans sit, and many of those homesites back to water or conservation area. That combination — a three-car garage on a conservation lot, at a resale price — is the specific thing that pulls buyers into Nona Crest rather than a newer neighborhood.

Common features across both series include brick paver driveways, high ceilings and open floor plans. Lots run from about 0.13 acre to 0.51 acre, but the average is closer to 0.15 acre — the half-acre homesites are outliers, not the norm, so do not shop expecting one.

What Does It Cost to Own Here?

Nona Crest carries both HOA dues and a CDD assessment, because the neighborhood sits inside the La Vina Community Development District.

Sharing a district is the only connection. Nona Crest is not affiliated with the La Vina villages in any other way — it has its own gate, its own amenity area and its own HOA, it sits physically apart from them, and it was built by Beazer Homes while La Vina Capri, La Vina Maribella, La Vina Solvino and La Vina Ziani were built by M/I Homes.

Who Is Nona Crest a Good Fit For?

Nona Crest fits buyers who want a gated, established neighborhood with mature landscaping at a lower entry point than newer Lake Nona construction — and who do not need a resident gym or a walkable village center.

Nona Crest is a good fit if:

• You want gated and established, not gated and new. Two decades of tree growth and paver sidewalks are things a 2024 neighborhood cannot sell you at any price.
• You want a three-car garage on a water or conservation lot. The larger Beazer series delivers that combination, and it is scarcer in newer Lake Nona neighborhoods at the same size.
• You commute via 417, 528 or the airport. At 5.6 miles from Orlando International Airport and minutes from both expressways, the location is the neighborhood's strongest single argument.

Look elsewhere if:

• You want new construction. Nona Crest finished in 2006 and sells only as resale. Try Isles of Lake Nona or Estates at Nona Sound.
• You want to avoid a CDD assessment. The La Vina district applies here. Northlake Park, Live Oak Estates and Belle Vie have no CDD.
• You want a fitness center and a walkable village center. Nona Crest has neither. Laureate Park is built around exactly that.
• You want golf inside the gates. Living across from Lake Nona Golf and Country Club is not membership in it. Eagle Creek is the Lake Nona neighborhood built around its own course.
