The Lake Nona public art tour is a free, self-guided walking route through dozens of murals, sculptures, and light installations in southeast Orlando, concentrated in Lake Nona Town Center and the Laureate Park village. The full self-guided loop takes roughly 2.5 hours, with QR codes on the ground explaining each piece. Highlights include JEFRE's six-story Beacon and its adjacent Code Wall, the 35-foot stainless-steel "Disco" dog sculpture, Colette Miller's Global Angel Wings mural, and the 50,000-square-foot Lake Nona Sculpture Garden at the Wave Hotel. Lake Nona treats public art as infrastructure, and the collection keeps growing — 30 new murals are planned for Lake Nona West in summer 2026.
Most people move to Lake Nona for Medical City, the schools, or the trails. Then they take one evening walk through Town Center, look up at a six-story tower flickering with light, glance over at a 35-foot steel dog, and realize their new neighborhood is basically an outdoor museum that nobody charged them to enter.
Here's the thing about art in Lake Nona: it isn't tucked inside a gallery. The developer, Tavistock, treats public art as infrastructure — the same way you'd think about sidewalks — so you bump into world-class work on a coffee run. Start at the Beacon: Town Center's Light Show
The natural starting point is the heart of Lake Nona Town Center, off Tavistock Lakes Boulevard. Two pieces anchor it, both created in collaboration with Lake Nona resident and public artist JEFRE.
The first is the Beacon — a six-story landmark that reads as a tall, sculptural tower by day and turns into a full audiovisual experience after dark, blending video, music, and interactive light. It's the most photographed thing in Lake Nona for a reason. Right beside it is the Code Wall, a parking garage wrapped in dichroic glass panels etched with imagery and messages written in binary code. Time your visit for sunset and the whole structure lights up in a shifting spectrum of color. Pro tip: take the garage to the top level for a genuinely great panoramic sunset view over the community.

Meet Disco and the Murals Around Town Center
A short walk from the Beacon, at the southeast entrance to the Town Center parking structure (6955 Lake Nona Blvd.), you'll find the community's unofficial mascot: Disco — a 35-foot-tall, 3,100-pound stainless-steel Labrador Retriever, also by JEFRE, with a mirror-like fractal surface echoing the ripples of the lake the community is named for. It's the single best photo op on the route.
From there, the murals come fast:
- Global Angel Wings — LA artist Colette Miller's traveling wings project, on Tavistock Lakes Boulevard near Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine. Stand between the wings and you become the artwork.
- The DNA Garage — a parking structure wrapped in colored bars representing the DNA sequence of a Valencia orange, a nod to Central Florida's citrus past.
- Prismatic — on Veterans Way, three local artists turned the community's chiller plant into a deconstructed-prism mural of 20-plus colors, using roughly 225 gallons of paint.
- Vanessa Mazza's nature sculptures — eleven flowers, butterflies, and creatures, each about 10 feet tall and 600–700 pounds, built from reused materials in Argentina.
Cross Into Laureate Park
Now head into Laureate Park, the flagship village wrapping Town Center. The standout here sits along the water near Canvas Restaurant & Market: Glass House, a shimmering stained-glass structure by Brooklyn artist Tom Fruin, built from reclaimed materials and part of his well-known ICON Series. It glows and shifts as the light changes through the day. Keep going toward the Pixon apartments, where three women artists turned the buildings into a living gallery: LeDania's ceiling mural inside the Foxtail Coffee lobby, Cecilia Lueza's exterior "Equinox," and Carissa Bloemeke's 9,000-square-foot "Brain Freeze." Finally, at the Wave Garage (5900 Wave Hotel Dr.), JEFRE added a lighting installation inspired by Braille — his second language-themed piece here.
The Sculpture Garden Is Its Own Trip
Save some energy for the crown jewel. The Lake Nona Sculpture Garden is a free, 50,000-square-foot outdoor space that opened in 2022 next to the Lake Nona Wave Hotel. You walk in through the hotel lobby and out into a tropical enclave of nearly 300 hand-selected palms threaded with works from the Lewis Collection — one of the largest private art collections in the world. That's where you'll find Arturo Di Modica's iconic Charging Bull, plus pieces by Fernando Botero and Henry Moore.

How to Walk It: Parking, Time, and Local Tips
A few practical notes so you're not learning them the hard way:
- Time it: The official self-guided tour runs about 2.5 hours end to end. Only have an hour? Stick to the Town Center core — Beacon, Code Wall, Disco, Global Angel Wings — and you'll still hit the greatest hits.
- Scan the QR codes: Look down. There are QR codes on the ground near each piece that pull up the artist and the story behind it. It's the difference between "cool wall" and actually getting it.
- Beat the heat: This is Florida and much of the route is exposed. Go early morning or, better, late afternoon into the evening — the Beacon and Code Wall are built for after dark anyway.
- Park once: Use the Town Center garages (the same ones that are murals) and walk the rest. The area is genuinely walkable, which is rare for suburban Orlando.
