Food and bars in stacked shipping containers, with live music, a dog park and sand volleyball courts

Boxi Park is an open-air food and entertainment venue at 6877 Tavistock Lakes Blvd in Lake Nona Town Center, Orlando. It opened in 2019 and is built from 12 shipping containers in one- and two-story configurations across about 30,000 square feet. The venue has counter-service food stalls, two bars, a live-music stage, a fenced dog park, a playground and beach volleyball courts. It is open to the public Thursday through Sunday, free to enter and cashless. Outside chairs are not allowed, and a free parking garage sits across the street.
Boxi Park is where a lot of Lake Nona residents take out-of-town guests first. It is a courtyard of stacked shipping containers in Town Center, each one a kitchen or bar, with a stage, sand courts and a dog park worked in around them.
One correction to an earlier version of this post: Boxi Park is in Lake Nona Town Center, not in Laureate Park. Here's what's there now, when it's open and what first-timers get wrong.
What is Boxi Park?
Boxi Park is an open-air food park in Lake Nona Town Center made from 12 shipping containers across about 30,000 square feet.
It opened in 2019 and was among the first venues of its kind on the East Coast, according to Lake Nona's developer. Instead of a food court under one roof, each container holds a different kitchen or bar around a shared courtyard with shaded seating, lawn games and a stage.
When is Boxi Park open?
Boxi Park is open to the public Thursday through Sunday and closed Monday through Wednesday.
| Thursday | 5–10 p.m. |
|---|---|
| Friday | 5–11 p.m. |
| Saturday | Noon–11 p.m. |
| Sunday | Noon–9 p.m. |
| Monday–Wednesday | Closed to the public |
Hours change with the season and around private events, so check the Boxi Park website before you go.
What can you eat and drink at Boxi Park?
Boxi Park has several counter-service food stalls and two bars, Bar Nona and Hops & Vine.
| Food | Fowl Play, Claw & Order (lobster rolls), Cañonita (tacos), La Cajita, The Grill Next Door |
|---|---|
| Sweets | ICE N' easy, B.I.G. (Before It's Gone) |
| Bars | Bar Nona; Hops & Vine (Park Pizza & Brewing beer and Tavistock Reserve wines) |
Vendors rotate, so treat this list as a snapshot. Hops & Vine pours beer from Park Pizza & Brewing, which is also in Town Center. For more places to eat, see our Lake Nona restaurants guide.
Is Boxi Park good for kids and dogs?
Yes. Boxi Park has a fenced dog park, called Barxi Park, and an expanded playground next to open lawn.
That combination is the reason families use it: kids play, dogs run and adults eat within sight of both. Weekend evenings lean more toward a bar crowd, so families with young children tend to come earlier in the day on Saturday and Sunday.
The lawn in front of the stage also works as event space: festivals have been held on The Lawn at Boxi Park, so check the events calendar before a visit. Some of those events are ticketed, even though regular entry is free.
Can you play beach volleyball at Boxi Park?
Yes. Boxi Park has sand volleyball courts used for adult leagues, open play and a beach volleyball academy.
Adult leagues have run through Orlando Sports & Social Club, and the Phil Dalhausser Beach Volleyball Academy, founded by the Olympic gold medalist, uses the courts for junior and adult programs. Check each organizer's site for the current season. Boxi Park is listed under volleyball in our Lake Nona sports and athletics guide.
What annual events does Boxi Park host?
Boxi Park's recurring calendar includes a St. Patrick's Day weekend in March, holiday weekends during Oh, What Fun! in December, and New Year's Eve parties for families and adults.
| St. Patrick's Day weekend | March; held in 2023, 2024 and 2025 |
|---|---|
| Holiday weekends | December weekends during Oh, What Fun!, with live music, themed menus and a kids' zone; in 2025, a free Holiday Blockbuster movie every Friday on the volleyball courts (activities at 6 p.m., film at 6:30 p.m.) |
| New Year's Eve | December 31; held in 2022, 2024 and 2025. In 2025: a family party, 4–8 p.m. ($15 in advance, $20 at the door), and a 21+ party, 9 p.m.–1 a.m. ($40 in advance, $55 at the door, $155 VIP with open bar and reserved seating) |
Other themed weekends come and go. Boxi Park ran a Carnaval weekend and a Cinco de Mayo and Derby Week weekend in 2025, and an Oktoberfest weekend alongside Town Center's Oktoberfest in 2026, but we list only events we could confirm in more than one year. Holiday parties like New Year's Eve are ticketed, the exception to Boxi Park's free entry. For this year's dates, check the Boxi Park event directory or our Lake Nona events guide.
What should you know before visiting Boxi Park?
Boxi Park is free to enter and cashless, outside chairs are not allowed, and there is a free parking garage across the street.
If you only have cash, you can exchange it for a Boxi gift card at the entrance. Seating is provided but fills up on busy weekend nights. Pair a visit with Nona Adventure Park earlier in the day, or see our family weekend in Lake Nona itinerary.
Pros, Cons and Our Take
Pros
- Free to enter, with free garage parking across the street.
- Dog park, playground and bars in one place, so it works for mixed groups.
- Live music and a rotating mix of food vendors.
- Beach volleyball courts with leagues and an academy.
Cons
- Open to the public only Thursday through Sunday.
- Counter-service food at food-park prices, not budget eats.
- Weekend evenings get crowded and loud.
- Cashless, and outside chairs are not allowed.
Our Take
Boxi Park is the easiest way to show someone what Lake Nona Town Center is like on a weekend. Go on a Thursday evening or a Saturday afternoon for the food, the dog park and the courts without the peak-night crowd.
What the Neighbors Know
For residents of Laureate Park, Isles of Lake Nona, Alora, Laurel Pointe and Eagle Creek, Boxi Park is a short trip for a weeknight dinner, not a planned outing. That's the kind of amenity that shows up in how people actually spend their evenings.
