Lake Nona Golf & Country Club is off Narcoossee Road in the Lake Nona area of Orlando, FL 32832, approximately 3 miles south of the 528 Beachline Expressway and 2 miles north of the 417 Expressway.

The club was established in 1986 and the first homes followed in 1987, which makes it one of the oldest communities in the Lake Nona area. It is still building today.

Yes. Lake Nona Golf & Country Club is a private, guard-gated community. Entry is controlled at the main gate.

No. Club membership is not required in order to buy a home inside the gates. However, you cannot use any of the club facilities without a membership, so a buyer who does not join owns a home in the community without access to the golf course, clubhouse, pool, fitness center or bath and racquet club. Membership is a separate cost from HOA dues.

The championship course was designed by Tom Fazio. It hosted the PGA TOUR-sanctioned Tavistock Cup from 2004 through 2013, when the event was discontinued, and Team Lake Nona won it five times. The front nine plays under a wooded canopy and the back nine runs along the lake.

Amenities include a 40,000 square foot clubhouse with two restaurants, a 5,000 square foot fitness center, men's and ladies' lounges and locker rooms with steam and sauna rooms, a separate bath and racquet club with fitness and tennis facilities, a resort-style lakeside pool with a children's playground, year-round children's programs, an 18-room lodge for visiting guests, and boating, fishing and water sports on three lakes. All of it requires a club membership.

Yes. The community is built around three lakes, and boating, fishing and water sports are available on Lake Nona, Buck Lake and Red Lake.

Homes are custom built and range from smaller bungalow-style homes up to estate homes. There are also a limited number of home-sized condominium units.

Homes run from roughly 2,200 to 17,000 square feet, with 2 to 8 bedrooms, 3 to 11 bathrooms, one or two stories, and garages for 1 to 8 cars. Lots in the older sections of the club range from about a quarter acre to 3 acres and average around half an acre. Lots in the newer Cromwell Road section range from a quarter acre to half an acre.

At full build-out the club is planned for approximately 500 to 550 home sites. That total grew after a large expansion along the south shore of Lake Nona. Forty-six lots are platted there, and not all of them have been released for purchase.

Yes. Prospective members can build new or purchase a resale home. New construction is built by an approved list of Central Florida estate home builders that includes Issa Homes, Phil Kean Designs, Maroon Fine Homes, Goehring & Morgan, Akers Custom Homes, DeVoe Custom Homes and Mrcela Custom Homes.

It depends on the section. The original part of Lake Nona Golf & Country Club does not have a CDD. The newer expansion along the south shore of the lake on Cromwell Road sits within the Myrtle Creek CDD, so homes in that section carry a Community Development District assessment on the annual property tax bill in addition to HOA dues. A newer access point connects to the USTA National Campus, Lake Nona Town Center and Medical City. Orlando International Airport and the Brightline high speed rail station are close by. Just outside the main gates are the Lake Nona Village shopping plaza and the Publix-anchored Cornerstone at Lake Hart shopping center.

It suits a buyer who wants a private golf club at the center of daily life, is joining the club rather than only buying the address, and is comfortable with club dues on top of HOA dues. It suits someone building custom or renovating, and someone who wants lot sizes and privacy that no other Lake Nona neighborhood offers. It is a poor fit for a buyer who will not use a club membership, who wants a turnkey new home without a renovation project, who wants to walk to restaurants and shops, or who needs to close on a fixed timeline.
