Moss Park Elementary Lake Nona: Grades & Zoning

One of Lake Nona's longest-running A-rated elementaries is starting its 20th year. It has also been redrawn more than once, which is the part buyers most need to understand.

Moss Park Elementary School is an Orange County Public Schools elementary at 9301 N. Shore Golf Club Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832, serving Pre-K through 5th grade. It opened in 2007, and 2026-27 is its 20th school year. It earned an A every year from 2021-22 through 2025-26, and the school says it has held an A since 2014. NCES lists 842 students for 2024-25, down from 1,184 in 2019-20 as newer schools took over parts of its zone. The mascot is the Eagle.

Moss Park Elementary was here before most of the neighborhoods around it. It opened in 2007, eight years before Eagle Creek Elementary and a decade before Laureate Park Elementary, and it has spent much of the time since handing parts of its attendance zone to newer schools.

That history is useful for anyone buying in this part of Lake Nona. The school's record is strong and stable. Which homes it serves has not been.

Where is Moss Park Elementary School?

Moss Park Elementary is at 9301 N. Shore Golf Club Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832.

The neighborhoods closest to it are the eight Moss Park neighborhoods (Commons, Enclave, Landings, Oaks, Preserve, Reserve, Ridge and Trails), North Shore at Lake Hart, Isle of Pines and Live Oak Estates. Being near a school and being zoned for it are two different things, though. See the zoning section below.

Is Moss Park Elementary in Moss Park?

No. "Moss Park" is the name of three different things in Lake Nona, and the school is not inside the park it shares a name with.

There is Moss Park the Orange County park, with its campground and boat ramps on Lake Hart and Lake Mary Jane (covered in our Moss Park camping and boating guide). There are the eight neighborhoods with Moss Park in their names, grouped on our Moss Park neighborhoods page. And there is the school, on N. Shore Golf Club Boulevard. A home in a Moss Park neighborhood is not automatically zoned for Moss Park Elementary. Check the address.

What is Moss Park Elementary's school grade?

Moss Park Elementary earned an A every year from 2021-22 through 2025-26, and the school says it has held an A since 2014.

The principal's message on the school's website adds that Moss Park has been recognized as a Florida School of Excellence, and that in its most recent results all of its student subgroups cleared the federal accountability threshold for the first time since 2018. Grades are released every summer and can change. For the current year, check the school's Florida Department of Education report card rather than a listing, a third-party ranking site or this post.

Why has Moss Park Elementary's enrollment dropped?

Because OCPS has moved parts of its zone to newer schools. NCES lists 1,184 students in 2019-20 and 842 in 2024-25.

Moss Park was one of the schools affected by a rezoning the School Board approved in May 2019, which took effect in August 2020. It was affected again by the rezoning for Innovation Elementary, approved in November 2024, which opened this August. Innovation's zone was drawn from areas previously served by Moss Park, Sun Blaze Elementary and Vista Lakes Elementary, so the 2026-27 number is likely to be different again.

A smaller enrollment is not a sign of a weaker school. It reflects this part of Lake Nona outgrowing one elementary and getting several.

Is my home zoned for Moss Park Elementary?

Check the exact address on the OCPS Find My School tool, and check it again before closing.

Moss Park is the clearest example in Lake Nona of why this matters. A home that was zoned for Moss Park a few years ago may be zoned for a different school today, and older listings and marketing often don't reflect that. Attendance zones are set by Orange County Public Schools, address by address.

What are the school hours and programs?

The school lists its hours as 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with before- and after-school care provided by Champions.

OCPS elementaries have a weekly early-release day, so check the district's bell schedule for the current year before you plan pickup. Families can get involved through the PTA, the School Advisory Council and ADDitions, the OCPS volunteer program. Our Take: Moss Park Elementary's A record goes back more than a decade, and its smaller enrollment is a result of new schools opening around it, not of anything going wrong inside it. The risk for buyers is assuming a home is still zoned for it. Confirm the address on Find My School, and don't rely on the neighborhood name.

What the Neighbors Know

In Lake Nona, the school on a home's listing is a snapshot, and Moss Park has more old snapshots floating around than any other school.

Families who bought here in the 2010s have seen the school's zone shrink twice. The neighbors who handle it well look up the address, not the neighborhood name, and check again before closing.
