Sun Blaze Elementary School is an Orange County Public Schools K-5 elementary at 9101 Randal Park Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832. It opened in 2013. Sun Blaze Elementary sits at the front of Randal Park and has served this side of Lake Nona since 2013. Its grades are strong, with one exception worth knowing about, and its enrollment has swung sharply with two rezonings.

That second part matters most for buyers. Sun Blaze has lost territory to new schools twice since 2020, most recently this August. A home that was zoned for Sun Blaze last year may not be now.

What is Sun Blaze Elementary's school grade?

Sun Blaze earned an A in 2025-26 and 2024-25, after a B in 2023-24. It was an A in 2022-23 and 2021-22.

The B is the only non-A in the five years shown on the state's report cards, and the school recovered to an A the following year and held it. Earlier, the school's principal wrote in 2018 that Sun Blaze had been rated A every year since 2014. Grades are released every summer and can change. Why has Sun Blaze's enrollment gone up and down?

Because OCPS has redrawn its zone twice, and the neighborhoods around it kept filling in between.

NCES lists 1,131 students in 2019-20. Sun Blaze was one of the schools affected by a rezoning the School Board approved in May 2019, which took effect in August 2020, and enrollment dropped to 768 that year. As homes filled in across Randal Park, East Park and the surrounding area, it climbed back to 1,180 by 2023-24 and was at 1,150 in 2024-25.

Then it happened again. When the School Board approved the zone for Innovation Elementary in November 2024, Sun Blaze was one of three schools that gave up territory, along with Moss Park and Vista Lakes. Innovation opened in August 2026, so the 2026-27 number will look different again.

The school describes its approach as small-group instruction within a Multi-Tiered System of Support, with targeted help for students who need it and enrichment for those ready to move ahead.

Classes run 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except Wednesday, when students are released at 2:00 p.m. That early release is the detail working parents most often miss. Sun Blaze offers school tours during the school year on scheduled Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m.; they pause over the summer. Families can get involved through the PTA, the School Advisory Council and ADDitions, the OCPS volunteer program, and the school runs an extended day program for before- and after-school care.
