The Big Four firm's national training campus sits on Lake Nona Boulevard. Here's what's inside, and why you can't book a room there.

KPMG Lakehouse is the national training and innovation campus of KPMG LLP, the U.S. arm of the Big Four accounting and advisory firm, at 9301 Lake Nona Boulevard in Lake Nona, Orlando. It opened on January 6, 2020, after a $450 million investment, and covers roughly 780,000 square feet on a 55-acre site. The two-building, nine-story complex has 800 single-occupancy guest rooms, more than 350,000 square feet of training space and a 1,000-seat town hall. The campus is private and serves KPMG professionals, interns and invited guests; it is not a public hotel or attraction. KPMG's local hiring largely happens at a separate site, its Capability Center in the Lake Nona Town Center HQ office building, which was announced in 2021 with 350 jobs.
Drive west on Lake Nona Boulevard past the golf club and you pass a large glass-and-stone complex set back behind water and landscaping. It looks like a resort hotel, and in some ways it is one: 800 rooms, a food hall, a wine bar and a mini golf course. But no one reading this can book a night there.
That building is KPMG Lakehouse, where one of the world's largest accounting firms trains its U.S. workforce. It's one of the clearest signs of how Lake Nona's employer base has grown, and it gets misunderstood a lot. Here's what it actually is, what goes on inside, and what it does and doesn't mean for the people who live nearby.
What Is KPMG Lakehouse?
KPMG Lakehouse is KPMG LLP's national training and innovation campus, a $450 million private complex on Lake Nona Boulevard that opened on January 6, 2020.
KPMG is one of the Big Four accounting and professional-services firms. Its U.S. firm, KPMG LLP, has more than 36,000 employees, and Lakehouse is where it brings them in person for training, onboarding and firm events. The campus sits on the south side of Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, a short distance west of Lake Nona Town Center.

A week at Lakehouse works like a residential conference. Participants fly in, stay on campus, train during the day and share meals and downtime in the evening. That's why the building combines classrooms with a hotel, dining and recreation all in one place.
Why Did KPMG Build Its Training Campus in Lake Nona?
Access to the airport was the practical reason: Lakehouse is about five miles from Orlando International Airport, which has direct flights to roughly 75% of KPMG's other office locations.
Nearly everyone who trains at Lakehouse flies in, so being close to Orlando International Airport matters more than anything else. Most of KPMG's U.S. workforce is within a two-hour flight, and Brightline's airport station adds a rail link to South Florida.
The Orlando Economic Partnership, the region's economic-development group, also cites the size of the local talent pool (more than 500,000 college students within 100 miles of Orlando) and Lake Nona's reputation as a planned innovation district. That reputation is the same one that drew Medical City's hospitals and research centers. For developer Tavistock, landing a Big Four firm's flagship campus added a major corporate name to a community best known at the time for healthcare.
What Happens Inside KPMG Lakehouse?
Lakehouse runs in-person training for KPMG's U.S. professionals, from new-hire onboarding and intern programs to leadership courses and, most recently, AI training.
The most visible program is the intern intake. Fortune reported in January 2026 that the winter intern class was 600 interns, chosen from 9,000 applicants at 146 schools, and that all of them came through Lakehouse. Experienced staff come back for technical training, leadership programs and firm-wide gatherings in the town hall.
Much of the recent training has focused on artificial intelligence. KPMG teaches a “Think, Prompt, Check” approach to using AI tools at work and has built practice-specific prompting frameworks for its tax and audit teams. The campus also includes an AI-themed space it calls the aIQuad, with a library of AI books. KPMG uses Lakehouse to host client and industry events as well, but these are invitation-only.
What Amenities Are on the KPMG Lakehouse Campus?
Beyond classrooms, Lakehouse has a 15,000-square-foot fitness center, several restaurants and bars, a 12,000-square-foot social venue and an outdoor sports park with an 18-hole mini golf course.
The dining is spread across several venues: a coffee shop (Common Ground), a wine bar (Blend), a sports bar (the Landing) and a food hall (Exchange). Outside, Lakeside Park has basketball, beach volleyball and pickleball courts, the mini golf course and about 1.2 miles of walking trails. The campus even keeps an on-site beekeeper, who tends four colonies, and a falconer.
The guest rooms are single-occupancy and managed by Hyatt. About 7% of the facility's power comes from on-site solar, and the campus works with local companies on food and composting services.
Can Lake Nona Residents Visit KPMG Lakehouse?
No. KPMG Lakehouse is a private corporate campus, closed to the public, with no public restaurants, hotel bookings or tours.
This is the point people most often get wrong. Lakehouse has a Hyatt-managed hotel and several bars and restaurants, so it's easy to assume you can drop in. You can't. Rooms, dining and recreation are for KPMG participants and invited guests only, and the campus is not listed as a public venue.
If you're looking for the hotel-and-dining version of Lake Nona, that's the Lake Nona Wave Hotel in Town Center, which is open to everyone.
Is KPMG Lakehouse the Same as KPMG's Lake Nona Office?
No. KPMG has two Lake Nona sites: Lakehouse, the training campus on Lake Nona Boulevard, and a separate Capability Center in the Lake Nona Town Center HQ office building at 6820 Marwick Lane.
The two sites are easy to mix up, and for anyone thinking about working for KPMG in Lake Nona, the difference matters. When Lakehouse opened, it came with about 80 direct KPMG jobs and more than 250 roles with the contract operators who run the hotel, dining and grounds. Fox 35 reported in 2024 that roughly 500 people worked at the campus. Most of those are hospitality and operations jobs.
KPMG's professional hiring in Lake Nona runs mainly through the Capability Center, announced in May 2021 with 350 new positions in tax compliance, controls testing and managed services. It's an ordinary office in the Town Center business district. For a professional thinking about relocating, that office is the one to watch for openings.
What Does KPMG Lakehouse Mean for Living in Lake Nona?
For residents, Lakehouse is a sign of a stable, diversified local economy, not an amenity they can use, and it sits next to some of Lake Nona's most established neighborhoods.
The closest neighborhoods are Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, just across the property line, along with Northlake Park, Village Walk and Laureate Park along the Lake Nona Boulevard corridor.
What Lakehouse offers residents is indirect. It brought a globally known employer into a community that was known mainly for hospitals and research, and it keeps a steady flow of business travelers passing through the area. Combined with the Capability Center office, it makes KPMG one of the larger corporate names in Lake Nona's tech and innovation mix, alongside neighbors like Signature Flight Support and SIMCOM Aviation Training. Pros, Cons and Our Take
Pros
- A globally known employer with a long-term, $450 million commitment to Lake Nona, built and operating since 2020
- Around 500 on-campus jobs, plus the separate 350-position Capability Center office in Town Center
- A low-profile neighbor: the campus is set back behind water and landscaping on Lake Nona Boulevard
- Five miles from Orlando International Airport, which reinforces the airport access that benefits the whole community
Cons
- Completely closed to the public: residents can't use the restaurants, recreation or hotel
- Most on-campus jobs are hospitality and operations roles run by contractors, not KPMG professional positions
- The people who use it are mostly short-stay trainees, so it adds little to day-to-day neighborhood life
- A single-company campus: how busy it is depends on KPMG's training strategy
Our Take
KPMG Lakehouse matters more as a signal than as something you'll use. It shows that a Big Four firm chose Lake Nona for its most important internal facility, and that choice has held since 2020. That's a real vote of confidence in the area's economy.
Just don't count it as an amenity when you're comparing neighborhoods. You'll never eat there or book a room there. If KPMG jobs are part of your reason for moving, the Town Center Capability Center is the office that hires locally.
What the Neighbors Know
Lake Nona residents know Lakehouse as the big building on Lake Nona Boulevard that looks like a resort but isn't open to them. They also know the part of KPMG they're more likely to deal with is the Town Center office, not the training campus.
More broadly, Lakehouse is part of why Lake Nona feels different from a typical Orlando suburb: a national training campus, a medical district and a sports-science hub all within a few miles of one another. If that mix of employers is part of what draws you, it's worth seeing in person. Drive the Lake Nona Boulevard corridor, then explore the neighborhoods closest to it.
