Nona Social Bar & Kitchen is at 9145 Narcoossee Road, Orlando, FL 32827, in LaVina Marketplace at the corner of Narcoossee and Dowden Road. It took over from Nona Tap Room, a craft-beer pub that had been at the same address since at least 2012, and reopened as Nona Social in 2018. It is a full bar with craft beer and cocktails, serving lunch and dinner with a burger-centered bar menu. It has TVs for sports, outdoor seating, weekly trivia and bingo nights, and hosts private events. It is a small, local neighborhood bar rather than a chain sports bar.

Before Lake Nona had a town center, it had a craft-beer pub at the corner of Narcoossee and Dowden Road. Nona Tap Room was pouring dozens of drafts there by 2012, and in 2018 it became Nona Social Bar & Kitchen, adding a full liquor bar and a kitchen to match.

It is still one of the few locally run bars in Lake Nona. Here is what it is like now, and how it fits next to the chain sports bars and the newer wine and cocktail bars.

Where is Nona Social Bar & Kitchen?

Nona Social is at 9145 Narcoossee Road in LaVina Marketplace, at the corner of Narcoossee and Dowden Road.

LaVina Marketplace is a small two-story center that also holds 407 Cafe, Tijuana Flats, Taino's Bakery & Deli and several fitness studios. Parking is in the shared surface lot, and Wawa is next door.

It sits on the north end of Lake Nona, beside the La Vina neighborhoods and a short drive from Nona Park.

What was Nona Tap Room?

Nona Tap Room was the craft-beer pub at this address before Nona Social; it reopened under the new name in 2018.

Nona Tap Room was reviewed by Orlando critics in 2012 and 2013 as a beer-focused pub with dozens of taps and a beer-club loyalty program.

The 2018 change turned it into Nona Social Bar & Kitchen: a full liquor bar, handcrafted cocktails and a made-from-scratch menu, in largely the same small room.

What is Nona Social like?

Nona Social is a small, cozy neighborhood bar with a full bar, craft beer, TVs for sports and outdoor seating.

Its own slogan is "be social and drink local," and the bar leans that way, with craft beer alongside cocktails. It is more bar than restaurant: a place to meet friends for a drink and a game, with food to go with it.

It gets loud when it is busy, and it keeps later hours than most of Lake Nona.

What food does Nona Social serve?

Nona Social serves lunch and dinner from a bar-food menu built around burgers.

Expect burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and shareable bar snacks rather than a full dinner menu. The menu changes from time to time, so check the current version on the bar's website.

If you want a sit-down meal with a bar attached, Nona Blue Modern Tavern in Lake Nona Village is the more food-focused option on this end of Lake Nona.

Does Nona Social have trivia and events?

Yes. Nona Social runs weekly trivia and bingo nights and hosts private events and parties.

The bar also books private parties, which suits birthdays and casual work gatherings that do not need a formal room.

How does Nona Social compare with Lake Nona's other bars?

Nona Social is the local neighborhood bar; Miller's Ale House is the big chain sports bar; Curious Cork is the wine bar.

Miller's Ale House at Narcoossee Cove is the big room for a game, with far more screens and taps. Curious Cork on the south end is built around self-pour wine.

Nona Social is smaller than either and locally run. It is the choice when you want a regular's bar close to home rather than a chain or a concept.

What the Neighbors Know

Residents of the La Vina villages, including La Vina Capri, La Vina Maribella, La Vina Solvino and La Vina Ziani, live closest, along with Nona Preserve across Narcoossee Road. For them, Nona Social is effectively the bar down the street.
