Laureate Park Elementary School is an Orange County Public Schools K-5 elementary at 7800 Laureate Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827, in the center of Lake Nona's Laureate Park neighborhood. It opened in August 2017. OCPS planned it in 2015 to relieve Eagle Creek Elementary. NCES lists 1,220 students for 2024-25. It earned an A every year from 2021-22 through 2025-26. The mascot is the Longhorn.

Laureate Park Elementary exists because Lake Nona's first elementary filled up too fast. Eagle Creek Elementary opened in 2015 with more students than it was built for, and within weeks OCPS was planning a second school on Laureate Boulevard to take the pressure off.

That second school is now A-rated and enrolls more than 1,200 students. Here is what's on the record about it, and the step every buyer should take before counting on it.

Where is Laureate Park Elementary School?

Laureate Park Elementary is at 7800 Laureate Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827, in the center of Lake Nona's Laureate Park neighborhood.

Laureate Boulevard is the spine of this part of Lake Nona. It runs from Narcoossee Road past the USTA National Campus and through Medical City. The school sits in the middle of Laureate Park, and when it opened, a new city park, Laureate City Park, was planned within walking distance of it. Being near the school and being zoned for it are two different things, though. See the zoning section below.

Note the ZIP code: the school is in 32827, while much of the rest of Lake Nona, including Eagle Creek, is in 32832. Don't read anything about zoning into either one.

When did Laureate Park Elementary open, and why was it built?

Laureate Park Elementary opened in August 2017 as a relief school for Eagle Creek Elementary, which had opened over capacity two years earlier.

In late 2015, OCPS announced plans for a second Lake Nona elementary on a vacant 12-acre parcel on Laureate Boulevard near the VA Medical Center and the UCF College of Medicine. The project was budgeted at $18.7 million, with SchenkelShultz as architect, room for 830 students, and completion targeted for spring 2017. The same reporting noted that Eagle Creek Elementary had opened that fall with 962 students in a building meant for 786.

Laureate Park Elementary opened for the 2017-18 school year, and local coverage that fall described its inaugural year. Some descriptions of the school, including an earlier version of this post, credit its design to Laureate Park's "smart city" features. The public record says something simpler: the area had more children than seats.

What is Laureate Park Elementary's school grade?

Laureate Park Elementary earned an A every year from 2021-22 through 2025-26.

The principal's message on the school's website says the latest A came with growth across every component of the grade. Grades are released each summer and can change. For the current year, check the school's Florida Department of Education report card rather than a listing or a third-party ranking site.

How big is Laureate Park Elementary?

NCES lists 1,220 students for 2024-25, making Laureate Park a large elementary school by any measure.

Is my home zoned for Laureate Park Elementary?

Check the exact address on the OCPS Find My School tool. Living in Laureate Park does not by itself decide which elementary a home is assigned to.

The shared name leads a lot of buyers to assume the neighborhood and the school go together. Attendance zones are set by Orange County Public Schools, address by address, and they get redrawn whenever a new school opens. Lake Nona has opened several since 2017, and each one moved some lines.

What are the school hours and programs?

Classes run 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except Wednesday, when students are released at 2:00 p.m.

The Wednesday early release is the detail working parents tend to miss. The school runs an extended day program for before- and after-school care and offers a range of after-school clubs; ask the front office which clubs are running this year and what extended day costs. Families can get involved through the PTA, the School Advisory Council and ADDitions, the OCPS volunteer program.
