An earlier version of this post described wine tastings, chef's small plates and networking with the community's movers and shakers. The actual event is more modest than that, and more useful to know accurately: it is a weekly bar offer with music, not a ticketed tasting.

Wine Down is a weekly Wednesday evening at the Lake Nona Wave Hotel's Living Room Bar with live music and a wine-and-cheese offer.

It is a standing promotion at the hotel's lobby bar rather than a separate event space or ticketed tasting. Lake Nona lists it on its community events calendar, so it is aimed at locals as well as hotel guests.

When is Wine Down?

Wine Down runs every Wednesday, normally from 5 to 8 PM.

The early window suits an after-work drink more than a late night. Arrive near 5 if you want a seat close to the music.

What does the Wine Down deal include?

Buy two glasses of wine during Wine Down and the bar adds a complimentary cheese board.

That is the whole offer: there is no tasting flight, pairing menu or set price. If two people are each ordering one glass, ask the bar whether that counts toward the cheese board. The Living Room Bar's regular cocktail and small-plates menu is available alongside it.

The bar is built around a large pink dogwood tree, with plush seating and a stadium-style staircase lounge. It sits off the lobby of the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, so there is no separate entrance to find.

Can you go to Wine Down if you're not staying at the hotel?

Yes. Wine Down is listed as a Lake Nona community event, and the Living Room Bar is open to the public.

The hotel runs a second weekly event, the Mixology Mixer, on Thursday evenings. Together they give the hotel two standing midweek events; the Lake Nona Farmers Market runs on the first and third Wednesdays if you want to pair it with dinner shopping.

What the Neighbors Know

The Wave Hotel functions as a neighborhood living room for much of Lake Nona, and Wine Down is the clearest example: a weekly, low-effort reason to meet friends without planning a night out.
