Lake Nona Branch Library

The Lake Nona Branch Library is set to become a cornerstone of knowledge and community engagement in Southeast Orlando. This forthcoming 20,000-square-foot facility, a collaboration between the Orange County Library System (OCLS) and the City of Orlando, is designed to meet the educational and cultural needs of the rapidly growing Lake Nona area.

Located at 8301 Dowden Road, the library will be part of the new Southeast Government Center, which also includes a regional police substation and various city services. The library's design features a public lobby, dedicated children's and teen areas, a computer/media lab, study and training rooms, and versatile meeting spaces that can be combined into a large hall. An outdoor performance area and landscaped courtyard will provide venues for community events and gatherings.

The building aims for LEED® Silver certification, emphasizing sustainability and energy efficiency. Large windows and a landscaped berm will bring natural light and greenery into the interior spaces, creating a welcoming environment for patrons.

Construction began in December 2024, with completion anticipated in early 2026. This project represents a significant investment in the community's future, providing a modern space for learning, collaboration, and cultural enrichment.
